Licensed to fly

Some good news – we now are FAA Part 107 licensed for commercial drone flights. What does that mean? The short answer is that the FAA requires that any commercial project using drones be conducted by a licensed pilot. Yes, that’s a thing.

It’s meant to reduce accidents and ensure that airspace rules are followed (there are a lot of zones out there with differing restrictions, especially urban areas). This is important from a liability perspective. When you have an officially licensed pilot, who has the right insurance, you can be sure that in the event of an incident you’ll be covered. Sweet, right? Also, by bringing this in-house we don’t need a separate operator to match schedules with and can ensure that the aerial shots and ground shots all aesthetically match up. Exciting!
